Located at the end of the Paseo de Pery Junquera, it dominates the entrance to the port of Cádiz; this passage and its interior space are the product of marine fillings made in the 80s, in order to expand the port space. Gades, the name of the city in Roman times, appears here as a figure of a naked young woman scanning the ocean horizon. One of her hands serves to cover her eyes from the sun's rays, the other resting on her waist; a cloak rests on her left forearm that, like her hair, moves in the wind. The sculpture, made in bronze, realistic, in size significantly larger than life, is supported on a white concrete pedestal, on which there is no other inscription than Gades.
